breaking ground at bridgeman downs

Construction is officially underway on a Specialist Disability Accommodation project at Bridgeman Downs, and we couldn't be more pleased to be working with Youngcare again.

The project is a community residence of six villas, designed to accommodate people with high physical support needs. What makes it particularly special is the setting: a generous 10,000m² block of land donated by Lynn Tipper, just 15km from Brisbane's CBD, that feels worlds away from the city. Peaceful, lush, and restorative—it's exactly the kind of environment that informed our design approach from the outset.
A home grounded in its surroundings
Our intention was to create something that feels like one big rural home rather than a facility. That distinction matters enormously to the people who will live there. A place that is grounded in its surroundings, rich with opportunities for residents to connect with one another, and that offers the quiet and calm that so often gets over looked in purpose-built accommodation. The site will include a sensory garden and viewing platform—elements that extend the experience of living there beyond the walls of each villa and into the landscape itself.

About Youngcare
For those who aren't familiar with Youngcare's work, it was founded in 2005 with a clear and urgent mission: to keep young people with high care needs out of aged care facilities.
They do this by building high-quality homes that provide dignity, independence, and community, and by offering grants that fund essential equipment, home modifications, and services. It's an organisation that changes lives every day, and it's one we're proud to support through our work.
We'll share more as the project progresses.
